how do you save your progress when you close out of the site?

When I try to heal the prince with the leaf from the tree of life, the game drops into and endless text loop, and it has to be reloaded from last save point...

Works all the way up until you need Don Machone to build something for you in DQII
. That requires a save then restart using the in-game save. Can't figure out a workaround...
